Happy 2006!

I have all kinds of good news to share with my readers, sparse as they are. First, I have an interview on Wednesday! I will be flying to DC tomorrow to interview (cymbals crashing)!!! I am really excited about it and will keep everyone posted on the details. I'm planning to have dinner with Katie and Scott while I'm in DC and maybe even check out a museum.

In other exciting news, everybody is getting married! Ted and Dana have declared their love and committment to one another (which means that their wedding napkins will be pink with embossed hearts--or maybe embossed Teds eating doves), Jen and Dave are planning a wedding that will definitely test their patience with their families and Tiffy and Yasinuri will be married in Japan in February! Holy cow! Jen has declared that none of her friends will be parading around in dipshit bridesmaid's dresses, so their wedding will be simple (and any of us who may have been tapped for altar duty are breathing a sigh of relief)!

James is closing in on the finish of his time in Tennessee and will be taking a year out to let the brainsmoke clear and prepare for a Ph.D. Steven is planning a trip to Costa Rica that will teach him about geography and Central America and will bring him one step closer to conquering each continent before he's 30. Andrea is taking off for Brazil soon to look for work there and spend time with her honey. Nick of the north is never coming home, as landowner fever has caught him and his skin has become permanently milky.

I hosted a girls CC reunion that had small attendance, but hopefully will spark future get-togethers. I found out that the Kokx twins are doing well, married, working, and enjoying their twenties. Shellbell has moved to Arizona and is working in a hospital and looking gorgeous. Little Harmony has gotten married and is headed back to school to take up midwifery. Billie is happily employed in New Mexico and Jen B is close to finishing school in Kzoo.

Andrew and I traveled to Milwaukee for Christmas and I was introduced to his extended family. We had a really nice time and will probably be headed back there soon. We visited the Sprecher's brewery and I can't recommend the tour or the products enough. We met with my friend Becky and her boyfriend, Nate and had a chance to get out to the Wisconsin hinterland to see my aunts and uncles.

Ok, that's enough news for now. I'll give an update of the interview soon, plus the trip to Chicago to see the Pompeii exhibit!
