A picture is worth 1000 dorks

Here is a picture of some dorks on New Year's Eve. Our town drops a wrench. Aawww.

In our continued pursuit of all things quaint, old-timey and somehow more meaningful, we visited Pennsylvania's Farm Show recently. We watched the draft horse hitch competition and critiqued the quality of various baked goods, crafts and produce. I must admit that I am a total geek for 4-H handicrafts. I was a member of a 4-H troop called the Eager Beavers--seriously. I am still amazed that I survived childhood. At any rate, we did make some killer crafts. I think I still have a box of wood burning, metal punching and stencil painting examples somewhere at my dad's house. Now I'm on to stitching, knitting, painting, and scrapbooking. Andrew says I'm becoming a bowerbird because I have lots of shiny, pretty pictures to make collages with.

2008 trips

Well, it appears that Andrew is flush with vacation days for 2008, so we're thinking about some trips. We have one trip planned to Arizona in February. Otherwise, here are a few suggestions we've received already:
-NYC-to visit Clare & Kate, Jasmine & Steven, visit the MOMA
-Houston-to visit the Clouses
-Amsterdam-to visit the Kirshmans & search Sara's roots
-Tennessee-to run a half marathon with James and look at waterfalls
-Alaska-to visit Nick of the North
-Scotland-to visit Lou & Gordon, drink scotch, play with ponies

That's the short list. We welcome suggestions.
